Children, parents and UHD students had great fun celebrating UHD's College of Public Service annual Spring Egg Hunt at the House of Tiny Treasures (HTT). Held on Wednesday, March 23, attendees enjoyed three egg hunts, arts and crafts, a cake walk, music and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

The event was organized by Paulette Purdy, director of business operations. She said, "The UHD/HTT Partnership project is a community engagement high impact experience for everyone involved and includes literacy as well as other faculty research projects. Students learn how to interact with families who are struggling with the issue of homelessness and learn of the effects of poverty on teaching and learning."

Special thanks to Rex White, director of criminal justice, cadets of the CJ Training Center, and all the UHD students and staff who participated in the event.

HTT is a nationally accredited early childhood education program for homeless toddler's and pre-school age children. It is Houston's most recognized therapeutic center dedicated to providing this unique clientele with essential opportunities to prepare young children to succeed in school.
