Interim President Fosters Open Dialogue With UHD Students

Building relationships with students is one of UHD Interim President Michael Olivas' goals, and he isn't wasting any time.

Olivas hosted a casual meet and greet for students on Monday, Feb. 22 in room A405 of the Academic Building. He presented students with an update on UHD's priorities and encouraged them to use all the available resources on campus in an attempt to gain the most from their student experience.

Olivas expanded his talk with discussions on financial aid and higher education as a whole, opening the floor for an extensive Q&A session, which gave students the opportunity to ask questions and address concerns. Topics ranged from student activities and student advising to parking and tuition.

In attendance were approximately 150 students, as well as a few faculty and staff members. Students enjoyed the remainder of their session with peers while enjoying a light lunch.
