Taiwanese Professor Guest Lectures at UHD

Kao-CJ 3320-1Dr. Dayu Kao, the leader of the 11th group of Central Police University (CPU) students studying at University of Houston-Downtown (UHD), took time to guest lecture in various criminal justice classes on campus, including Dr. Judith Harris' senior seminar class and Dr. Hsiao-Ming Wang's Statistics in Criminal Justice class.

Dr. Kao is an assistant professor in the Department of Information Management at CPU in Taiwan. He spoke to UHD students about combating cybercrime both in his own country and internationally. Dr. Kao, a former police officer, gave many illustrations as to how he teaches future police officers to track cyber criminals through URL'S and other computer features.

"Hacking is growing exponentially around the world; Dr. Kao is one of the experts in this fascinating field, said Dr. Wang, professor in criminal justice and director of UHD's Bayou Connection Program

On Feb. 3, Dr. Kao gave another lecture to criminal justice students at UHD Northwest campus.

Dr. Kao said, "It is also my honor to share my knowledge in cybercrime to UHD students from a comparative perspective.
