TDECU Supports the Houston Hispanic Initiative with $3,000 Donation

Regional VP, Markel Travis, Sr. Business Engagement Officer, Candace Strother, and Christopher G. Soriano, Member Center Manager for the downtown TDECU location in the tunnels at 930 Main St (Pictured - L-R), gave a generous donation to support the Houston Hispanic Leadership Initiative (HHLI). Last week, UHD welcomed Representatives of TDECU - Your Credit Union to campus for a special visit to discuss the Houston Hispanic Leadership Initiative (HHLI) with UHD President Dr. William Flores.

HHLI will launch this semester by UHD to educate and engage with emerging leaders from the Houston community around the issues and conditions that affect the Hispanic community - particularly relating to citizenship, economic opportunity, education and quality of life.

Regional VP, Markel Travis; Sr. Business Engagement Officer, Candace Strother; and Christopher G. Soriano, Manager-TDECU Member Center at 930 Main St., presented a check for $3,000 to Dr. Flores, to allow two individuals to partake of the HHLI without charge.

All UHD students, faculty and employees are eligible for membership in TDECU, which offers many distinct and innovative products, keeping their members at the heart of everything they do.
