President Flores Attends Annual Charity Ball

On Thursday, Dec. 9, President Dr. Bill Flores attended the World is Not Enough 2015 Annual Charity Ball at the Bayou City Event Center. The event was hosted by the World Chamber of Commerce Texas (WCCT).

President Flores introduced guest speaker Secretary of State of Texas, Carlos Cascos. The two enjoyed meeting one another and Cascos looks forward to visiting UHD in 2016.

This year's efforts contributed to the elimination of sex trafficking, and Jim Ehrman served as the keynote speaker. Ehrman is the North American executive director of Love 146, which is an international human rights organization working to prevent child trafficking and exploitation.

Among attendees were UHD team members, including staff from President Flores' office, Sandra Garcia, special assistant to President Flores; Julie Norton, executive director of Strategic Partnerships; William Dudley, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship; Jacob Lipp, director of Corporate Relations; and David Flores — a UHD supporter.

Also in attendance was a wide-range of Houston community members, international businesses, consul generals and UHD supporters: Dr. Zachary Hodges, president of Houston Community College (HCC) -Northwest College; and Neeta Sane, HCC Board of Trustees.

Guest enjoyed cultural performances, live music, dancing and culinary delights from around the world.
