Journal of Family Strengths Editors Seek Papers for Spring Issue

Editors of The Journal of Family Strengths are seeking submissions of articles to be published in the journal's spring 2016 issue. The issue will focus on civic and social participation of Latinos in the United States.

Faculty and staff are asked to submit manuscripts on a theme related topic to the topic "Latino Civic and Social Engagement: Voices, Experiences, Trials, and Triumphs." The deadline to submit manuscripts is Feb. 29, 2016. Prospective authors are asked to review the Call for Submissions specifications for more information.

According to the editors of this special issue, the topic will be of particular relevance due to the 2016 presidential election. UHD President Bill Flores is one of three editors-in-chief of the journal. Editors of the special issue are UHD faculty member Bernardo Pohl; retired faculty member Viola Garcia; and former UHD faculty member Traqina Emeka, now at Lone Star College.

The publication is an open-access, peer-reviewed online academic journal produced by the Children at Risk Institute in partnership with UHD's Center for Public Service & Family Strengths and the Texas Medical Center Library.
