UHD Leased Parking Spaces at San Jacinto Lot to Discontinue Jan. 1

parking mapThe University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) was recently informed that the property that includes UHD's leased 'San Jacinto Lot' has changed ownership. The new owner has informed UHD that it will be terminating all parking leases associated with that property, effective the end of this calendar year.

Effective Jan 1, 2016, UHD will no longer be able to provide parking spaces at the San Jacinto lot. To offset this loss, which will primarily impact students, the University is working to provide replacement parking elsewhere, within close proximity to campus.

Beginning in January the unpaved surface parking lot located at the southwest corner of North Main and Naylor Streets (across North Main from the College of Business/Shea Street Building, currently marked as 'Lot A'), will be modified to allow some student parking. An appropriate number of the Lot A spaces will be clearly marked as 'Faculty/Staff," and the remainder will be clearly marked as 'Student." The lot will then be monitored by our Parking Enforcement Officer to ensure that the new guidelines are being followed.

UHD is also working to bring back the unpaved surface lot located at the northeast corner of Main and Naylor Streets (across Naylor St. from the College of Business/Shea Street Building, previously marked as 'Lot B'), which will be available to students, faculty, and staff. We expect to have this worked out and this lot back in service for UHD parking for January 2016.

Please see UHD Campus Map with all current available parking locations.
