UHD Hosts Taiwan-Texas Higher Education Forum

UHD, in collaboration with the Taiwan Education Center U.S.A., hosted the 2015 Taiwan-Texas Higher Education Forum in the Willow Street Pump Station last week.

American universities send more than 3,200 students on exchange programs, Mandarin studies courses and short-term assignments in Taiwan each year. The objective of the Forum was to increase international cooperation and student mobility between Taiwan and Texas.

Following a presentation by keynote speaker Paul C.W. Chu, professor of physics at University of Houston, a panel comprising Taiwanese and Texan university administrators discussed major topics concerning international policies, student and faculty exchange programs, and higher education issues that affect the collaborative relationships between Taiwan and the United States.
