Attendance to the College of Business (COB) Career Center's Gator Resume Dash, held Sept 2-3 in the Shea Street Building, was 64 percent higher than the attendance at the same event last year. About 100 College of Business students brought their resumes to be reviewed by industry executives from companies including Academy Sports & Outdoors, H-E-B, Men's Warehouse, Modern Woodmen and Walmart. Attendees noted the convenience of having access to a brief critique between classes and expressed their appreciation of a corporate perspective on the resume crafting process.

"Events like the Gator Resume Dash help students to identify their skills before beginning a job search and receive constructive feedback from hiring experts," said Career Center Director Brett Hobby. "Students are learning that early preparation is key, especially for the resume. The increase in participation makes this clear, and participating employers were thrilled with the turnout."

The Gator Resume Dash is one of eight annual career events produced for UHD's business students by the College of Business Career Center. The Resume Dash event is strategically planned to be the precursor to the semi-annual Business Career Fair, scheduled for Sept. 17-18, in the Shea Street Building.
