Two former urban education students were recently recognized by their respective school districts for their outstanding service.

Chris Warren, a teacher with Houston Independent School District, and Amber White, a middle school teacher with Galena Park Independent School District, were each selected as "Rookie Teacher of the Year" for the 2013-2014 academic year.
