UHD Police Debut New Uniforms Today

UHD police officers have a new look!

Effective today, May 19, police officers moved from the more traditional light blue shirts with dark blue epaulettes and pocket covers to a dark blue uniform shirt with an external vest carrier. This change is being made for reasons of officer comfort and because law enforcement in general has moved away from the light blue color, which has made finding replacement uniforms increasingly difficult.

The officers in the new dark blue uniform shirts will be the same professional, caring officers that wore the light blue uniform shirts, but look slightly different. Just remember, our shoulder patches have not changed.

Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact boyler@uhd.edu.

Also, please do not hesitate to contact the Dispatch Office at 713-221-8065 should you ever feel the need to verify the authenticity of a uniformed individual as an authorized officer of the UHD Police Department.

Respectfully,

Richard Boyle, Chief of Police
