Criminal Justice Students Travel to the Capitol

Members of UHD's chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, and the Professional Society of Criminal Justice Students traveled to Austin April 11 and 12 for an informative field trip that included meeting with the General Counsel for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, a tour of the courthouse and Capitol, and a visit to the Texas Peace Officer's Memorial and the Texas Capitol Museum.

This high impact activity was funded, in part, through the Council of Finance, after Alpha Phi Sigma applied for and was awarded funding.

The faculty advisor for Alpha Phi Sigma is Michael Cavanaugh. The faculty advisor for the Professional Society of CJ Students is Janice Ahmad.
