The 13th Annual Student Research Conference was held on Friday, April 11, and more than 100 students from across the University presented posters on their interesting and diverse research topics.
Tuwanda Smith, Nuclear Regulatory Commission program manager, was the guest speaker for the event. The NRC’s Minority-Serving Institutions Program and UHD have a long-standing relationship of promoting underrepresented populations in STEM fields.
Jennifer Abrams, a UHD alumni who graduated in 2007, was the guest speaker for Scholars Academy.
During the presentations, President Flores and UHS Regent Paula Mendoza toured the room, speaking with students about their research.
