Enjoy Trivia and Birthday Cake on Darwin Day Friday

darwinThe UHD Darwin & Leeuwenhoek Society will be celebrating the birthday of renowned scientist Charles Darwin on Friday, Feb 14, from 10 a.m. - noon in A300.

Darwin Day is celebrated internationally on the anniversary of his birth, Feb. 12, but UHD will hold its celebration on Friday. Generally, the day is used to highlight Darwin's contribution to science and to promote science in general.

Students and attendees can enjoy several booths with related trivia games, a presentation by Lisa Morano, chair of the Natural Sciences Department, two Darwin look-alikes, and a birthday cake.

A schedule of events is below.

10 - 11 a.m. Students visit booths and answer trivia questions at each booth, then turn in their sheets and receive a piece of cake.

11 - 11:30 a.m. Dr. Morano presents a talk on Darwin

11:30 - noon Winners of trivia quiz announced
