Go Western with Go Texan Day!

HLSR 200Yeehaw! This Friday is Go Texan Day, a time for Houstonians to dust of their cowboy boots and hats and celebrate being Texans.

The day was organized by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) in the 1950's as a way to preserve our proud Texas traditions and draw attention to the show. The day also kicks off the weeks-long schedule of HLSR events.

UHD employees are encouraged to come to work on Friday dressed in their best western wear or even decorate their offices. Let's all do Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and other Texas heroes proud with our western spirit!

Be sure to snap some pictures and send them to news.uhd.edu. See you in the corral, partner.
