House of Tiny Treasures and UHD Help Children in Need

By: Paulette Purdy, College Business Administrator, College of Public Service

Makayla is one of the 55 children and their siblings at SEARCH's House of Tiny Treasures that the UHD/HTT Partnership Project helped to sponsor this Christmas. Special thanks to the CJ Training Center Cadets (collected 56 sleeping bags), Louis Evans and friends at the Tower Oaks Community, The Woman's Club of Houston, Lisa Hill and friends at Kohl's department store, the UHD community and Gordon my husband for his patience in always helping and understanding that our house looks like a department store most of the time while collecting, sorting and packing for delivery not just at Christmas but year round.

Each year the Director of HTT requests we focus on survival items such as items for warmth, so each child will receive a duffel bag filled with two pairs of pajamas, blanket, stuffed animals, toy, candy treat and a sleeping bag.

Email purdyp@uhd.edu for more information on how you can help the kids at HTT.
