Gallery Hosts Lecture by French Artist

By: Mary Ann Cozza

The UHD O'Kane Gallery is hosting a lecture by Romain Froquet, French artist and curator, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in room 1099N.

Froquet's lecture, "French Urban Art and Open the Door: An Introduction to International and Collaborative Projects," will focus on urban art in Paris and France. He will also demonstrate how the 9eme Concept artists' collaborative is inscribed in this movement, how economy, society and art can be related and how an artist can make a living by multiplying networks and enlarging his or her range of creativity.

"This is a great opportunity to learn about "street" art as a serious facet of contemporary art as well as to find out more about submitting proposals for creating/designing a side of one of the doors, as part of the Open the Door project," said Mark Cervenka, gallery director.
