Delegation from Tajikistan Speaks on Human Trafficking to Social Work Students

By: Mary Ann Cozza

The UHD Social Work program recently hosted a delegation of government workers from Tajikistan for a presentation on human trafficking.

The trip was coordinated through the U.S. Attorneys’ Office unit on human trafficking. Because Texas is a central hub for this issue, the office regularly brings international experts to the region to share information.

The delegation presented a short video on the culture of Tajikistan followed by a slideshow on the recent legislation and government work taken in the country to combat the tragedy.
