UHD's Facilities Management and IT departments will be testing the university's emergency power systems across the campus this Sunday, Aug. 19, beginning at 7 a.m. The work is expected to be completed by no later than 6 p.m. that same day.

This testing will require rolling power shutdowns throughout the day, impacting different parts of the campus at different times. Because of this, there will be no access to any UHD buildings during the test period.

According to IT, all electronic equipment (including computers, printers and scanners) must be powered down/turned off before Sunday.

All IT critical systems are expected to be available from off campus during the planned emergency power testing on Sunday. Faculty, staff and students will be able to access Banner, online grades, Blackboard, email, voicemail and other e-services from off-campus locations.

However, if you are planning on accessing your office PC remotely on Sunday, you will not be able to do so while your office PC is turned off. In order to access it remotely after the power comes on, you have to turn on your office PC on Monday, Aug. 20. If you are unable to come back to campus to turn it on, you may coordinate turning it on through your department beginning Aug. 20.
