CJ Academy Grad Saves Drowned Man

A recent graduate from UHD's Criminal Justice Training Center saved a drowned man during an afternoon at Galveston last week. The victim washed ashore near Wes Manion, the recent grad, who recalled his emergency medical training and began CPR.

Manion told Rex White, director of CJTC, that he attributes his life saving skills to his education at the UHD academy.

Manion was recently hired as a County Precinct 6 Reserve Deputy Constable. During the formal swearing in ceremony, drowning survivor Jason Roy pinned Manion's badge.
