Chinese Engineers Learn U.S. Techniques at UHD

By: Mary Ann Cozza

For the next several months, UHD will play host to a group of engineers and managers from the China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

UHD’s Continuing Education office has partnered with American Petromentor Institute, Inc. to present a three-month seminar on Offshore Drilling Techniques to these engineers. The program began in early April and runs through July.

The seminar will teach these petroleum professionals from the People’s Republic of China the U.S.’s techniques of drilling. They will discuss such subjects as risk management in deepwater drilling, drilling problems and challenges, deepwater drilling well control and shale gas technology.

According to Gail Kellersberger, director of UHD’s English Language Institute, “UHD is pleased to be able to host this in-depth seminar and once again forge connections with a major corporation of China.”
