Students Win First Place at Microbiology Conference

Two UHD students presented posters at a state conference for the American Society of Microbiology and won first place in their categories.

Doug Litwin, who worked with associate professor Phil Lyons, presented research on laccase enzymes in fungi, while Kimberly Walker, who worked with associate professor Poonam Gulati, presented work on mathematical model growth of bacteria as biofilms.
