Students Attend FemProf Conference in Puerto Rico

Nine students were sponsored by the UHD Center for Computational Sciences to attend the FemProf Conference Jan. 27-28 in Rincon, Puerto Rico.

FemProf is a comprehensive program engaging female undergraduates in a mentoring program that involves a focus on: computing research experiences, cultural, gender and workplace biases/issues workshops and seminars combined with summer internships - all focused on preparing for success in graduate school and directed to future participation in the professoriate. The program is a collaboration between the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez and the Center for Computational Science at UHD and is supported by the National Science Foundation.

Chosen students include Lilian Antunes, Kaleigh Ceaser, Greysi Chao, Deepika Dhadral, Melissa Greenlee, Vanessa Hernandez, Sarah Jennisca, Yesenia Salazar and Sara Wilder.
