UHD, Flores Help City Celebrate Citizenship Week

UHD is proud to help Houston celebrate Citizenship Week Nov. 13 -19 as an event sponsor. During the week, the City of Houston will partner with community and faith-based organizations to celebrate the many social and economic contributions and accomplishments made by the vast, diverse population.

UHD President Bill Flores will serve as an honorary co-chair and will be featured on a public service announcement where he shares his thoughts about Houston's diversity and how it makes the city stronger.

UHD will host several events for Citizenship Week in conjunction with International Education Week, which runs Nov. 14-19. For a list of campus events, click here. There will also be two discussions: "Voting Rights: A talk on the evolving rules for presenting identification at the polls," is from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the special events room, A300, Academic Building and a talk on naturalization and demystifying the process will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Cullen Robertson Auditorium, third floor, Academic Building.
