Sports & Fitness Hosts Holiday Weight Maintenance Program

Many Americans gain weight during the Thanksgiving and holiday season thanks to rich foods and decadent desserts. You don’t have to be one of those people!

UHD Sports & Fitness is committed to helping our faculty, staff and students live healthy lives and will host ‘Maintain Don’t Gain,’ a weight maintenance/weight loss program, from Monday, Oct. 24, through Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012. Weigh-ins will be on the third floor of the Student Life Center.

Join this program for greater accountability, weekly weigh-ins, a tracking journal and weekly email tips on avoiding holiday weight gain.

Participants that don’t gain weight during the program will receive a t-shirt and water bottle! Those interested can register with Rhonda Scherer via email at

  1. I hate gaining weight during the holidays especially Thanksgiving. Last year I gained 7 pounds somehow in 1 single day! It seemed to take nearly a month to lose the weight. Thanks for your post and though I’m not near you I wish I could go! But hey, I’ll work out in spirit with ya!
