UHD Financial Guru Wins Grant for Research

In this time of economic turmoil, it is a rewarding and comforting thought to know UHD has a financial wizard on board in Rahul Verma, associate professor of finance.

Verma was recently awarded a $15,000 grant from the Institute of Financial Markets, a nonprofit educational foundation focused on providing unbiased and balanced financial information to the public.

The IFM's theme for this year's grant proposals was exchange-traded and cleared derivatives. Verma's research proposal, "Behavioral Finance and Pricing of Derivatives-Implications for Dodd-Frank Act," answered the foundation's criteria and was selected as one of five grant recipients.

The project will be completed using the funds and Verma will be assisted by an IFM research advisor.

Congratulations Dr. Verma!
