DeWitt Receives Citizen Award from Crime Stoppers

Jean DeWitt, Executive Director for Global Citizenship at UHD, was selected by Crime Stoppers to receive the Leon Goldstein Award at an annual awards ceremony June 7 at the Hotel Zaza.

This award is presented to a citizen who has made significant contributions to fighting crime in the community, according to Crime Stoppers.

"I have been a catalyst in the partnership between Crime Stoppers and the University of Houston-Downtown. The award represents numerous faculty pioneers in service-learning and our students who embrace the opportunity to reach out to their communities and make presentations for middle schools, high schools, neighborhood watch programs, and businesses. UHD and Crime Stoppers will continue this collaboration, solidly developed in online as well as face-to-face classes," DeWitt said.

Congrats!
